Pokémon World Tournament

To be among the elite video game players at the Pokémon World Championships, players must collect and train a powerful Pokémon team, spend countless hours preparing for battle, and plan a strategy for the intense competition they must face. For a select few players who competed at the 2012 Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii, their hard work, dedication, and success earned them a place in the upcoming Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 video games launching 12th October in the UK.

The Pokémon Company International announced today that 12 video game finalists from this year’s Pokémon World Championships—including three-time World Champion Ray Rizzo—will be the basis for Pokémon Trainers in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 to challenge players as part of the in-game Pokémon World Tournament. Beginning on 22nd October, three distribution events via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service will unlock Pokémon World Tournament events featuring those finalists. Each distribution will feature four finalists from a Pokémon World Championships age division, and you can battle them after reaching the Pokémon World Tournament found in the Unova region’s Driftveil City.

You will battle the Pokémon teams that these top Trainers used at the 2012 Pokémon World Championships, including their moves, held items, Abilities, and Natures. Ray Rizzo’s lineup of Tyranitar, Garchomp, Cresselia, Hydreigon, Metagross, and Rotom proved too strong for the competition as he battled his way to an unprecedented third Pokémon World Championships title. More information, including dates for all three distributions, the complete list of finalists that will be included in the distributions, and further instructions on how to participate, will be announced 15th October.

Mysterious Land of the Elements is upon us!

A new threat is stirring to the east of Taborea. Gameforge is expanding the online world of Runes of Magic with a completely new region, Chrysalia, in the coming week. Thundering waterfalls, bubbling pools of lava, and huge ant-built structures will greet new adventurers, replete with never before seen foes, plenty of new quests and a highly demanding instance. This ancient land and native home to the true dragons is currently being plagued by the Kulech, a clan of exceedingly aggressive ant creatures.

Chrysalia lies on the coast of the continent of Kolydia. The tempestuous storms across the ocean make their presence known in the coves of the region as a dusty and driving wind, shaking the bridges constructed by the allies to connect the disparate cave systems. The force of the four elements has shaped the land since time immemorial, and has created a host of perilous anomalies. This region is inhabited by two different types of ant-like Myrmex. The Garon are the more peaceable of the two races and, in a nod to symbiotic development, their counterparts the Kulech are belligerent and hostile.

On the itinerary for budding adventurers are also the more secluded corners of Chrysalia, such as the Edliss Ruins to the south, the Bloody Battlefield and the Kulech Bones Nest – the new instance. Fierce battle awaits against the Queen of the Myrmex, which will mark out the true heroes from the rest.

The Birth

For over 25 years I’ve played games on many different machines, from old Apple’s and C64’s right up to high end gaming machines I’ve built over the last few years. I’ve always enjoyed rich RPGs when I need to feel deeply involved or captivated and of course there’s always the no holds barred beat ‘em up or FPS when I need to blow off some steam and let loose. I’ve seen the games that defined a generation and the ones that refined it; I was even there for the first day of the game that gave birth to Massively Multiplayer Online games.

My experience in gaming spreads across all genres from strategies and shoot ‘em ups to simulations and adventure, but my true love has always been role playing games. I felt it was time to share my experience and knowledge with others and so this blog was born. Through the course of this blog, I will endeavour to provide first class previews, news and reviews on games of all genres with a possible bias towards RPGs. So I encourage all those who seek knowledge and wisdom from this world to stay tuned and read my blog.
